North London redevelopment

An existing Doctors surgery on the site has expanded and wished to remain on the site post redevelopment of the outdated Victorian building. Archforth’s role was to review the proposals to house the NHS facility on site together with a number of flats above to create a viable 5 storey development capable of being funded externally. The construction complications with a basement have been assessed together with costing services to prove viability. The process also involved negotiations with the NHS over their funding.

Revised planning proposals including redesigns were submitted and this process continues to be steered by Archforth to achieve a financially viable scheme.

Mixed use scheme, Somerset

A disused brown field site with an unsuitable planning consent that required thoroughly rethinking to create a financially viable scheme. This necessitated a difficult planning process against local opposition and local council interests and a substantial planning input from Archforth led to a categorical approval at Appeal.  Along the way, a restrictive use covenant had to be extinguished by negotiation with the owner, who was also the town council, plus the spectra of previous police activity on an earlier ownership coupled with intense negotiations with client joint venture partners complicated matters. This project had it all and Archforth turned the distressed site into a profitable private housing and convenience store project which has been well received.
